Azuma Takeshi
Sound Engineer PA, Recording, Mix, Mastering, Installation
As a child, Azuma Takeshi was interested in the flora and fauna around him, as well as natural phenomena, and could not part with his field guides or mountain gear.
Later, he became immersed in music and began field recording at the age of twenty, seeking points of contact between nature and music.
After working for an architectural firm, he began working as a sound engineer under the name "tonraum recording."
While teaching electrical engineering at a vocational school, he felt that knowledge of caring for people's bodies other than equipment was also important for engineers.
He began to support works by providing quiet hiking guides and food.
He opened a space called "Yamashokuon" in Kyoto in collaboration with the mountain gear brand "Yama to Michi," which combines food, nature, and sound.
Currently, he is responsible for live sound, recording, and sound design for music, films, and stage productions using the philosophy and techniques of field recording.
He is also active in researching the local sound culture and recording the environment.
At "At one with field," he collaborates with various artists to create study sessions and works that explore how we can all perceive spaces where music is created.
